Holiday Fashions
The holiday season is right around the corner and that
means parties. Cocktails, dances, sit-down dinners,
office festivities...you can go broke buying clothes for
the different venues. Or do you? Nope. One dress is all
you need. One dress that can take you from the office,
through happy hour, and right on to dinner and late night
dancing. Impossible, you say? Oh, ye of little faith.
The little black dress has been around for decades, and
for good reason. With just a few subtle changes in
accessories you can turn an office outfit into a dazzling
showstopper, and you don't have to spend big bucks to do
it. So let's go over the fundamentals:
Big Butt Alert - To help
hide your hips, scout out full-skirted dresses that will
skim your backside. A daring neckline will draw attention
to your better half.
Boobie Traps - To play down
your bustiness, try a dress with a high neckline.
Big Mama - Full-figures
should skip anything that's skin tight; look for more
fluid dresses that lightly skim your curves.
You don't have to break the bank shopping.
XOXO, Guess and Land's End all have basic black dresses
from $50-$100.
Now that you have your dress, you'll want to
throw a few shimmering accessories into your tote before
leaving for work. This season's latest rage is gold!
Check out my suggestions for keeping the cost reasonable.
1. Take along stronger,
evening-color makeup to freshen up with.
2. Grab a brush and a few of the
season's latest hair accessories and create an upsweep do
before leaving the office. (Goody or Cosmo Girl)
3. Dress up with a pair of gold hoop
earrings. (JC Penney)
4. Slide into a thin-heeled mule. (Nine
West or Apostrophe; Spiga if you have an inheritance you
want to get rid of)
5. Don a bold sequined bag. (Kenneth
Cole or bebe)
6. Accent with a gleaming belt. (Ralph
Lauren)
Voila! You're ready to be the life
of the party!
